Orange sorbet topcook.tomathouse.com
Ingredients:
- 200 g of sugar
- 1.5 tbsp orange zest, finely grated
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups freshly squeezed orange juice, from about 900-1400 g of oranges
- 1 tbsp. freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1.5 cups very cold whole milk
Preparation:
- In a food processor, combine all ingredients except the milk and process until the sugar dissolves, about 1 minute. Pour the mixture into a bowl and stir in the milk. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for about 1 hour, until the mixture reaches 4°C (39°F) or below.
- Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and process until it reaches the consistency of soft serve ice cream. Serve immediately or transfer to a lidded container and freeze until firm, about 3 hours.
