Bloody Mary Pick-Me-Up (Pick Me Up)

Ingredients:

  • 450 ml of chilled vodka
  • 4 cups tomato juice
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (from about 2 lemons) plus lemon wedges for garnish
  • 3 tablespoons of horseradish
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp chili sauce
  • 1.5 tsp celery salt
  • 1 tbsp. l. chili seasoning (see recipe spice mixes with chili pepper)
  • Celery stalks, pickled peppers, jalapeño stuffed olives, and pickled okra for garnish.

Preparation:

  1. In a large pitcher, combine the tomato juice, lemon juice, horseradish, Worcestershire sauce, chili sauce, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1 teaspoon pepper, stirring with a long spoon. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or store for up to 2 days.
  2. Combine celery salt and chili powder on a plate. Wet the rims of 8 glasses with lemon wedges, dip the rims in the celery salt and chili powder, and fill the glasses with ice.

  3. Add vodka to the tomato mixture and stir well. Pour into prepared glasses. Garnish with celery, peppers, olives, okra, and lemon wedges.
