Candied Bacon with Tequila topcook.tomathouse.com
Ingredients:
- 450 g bacon strips
- 1 cup tequila
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 0.5 tsp chili powder
- 0.5 tsp ground chipotle pepper
Preparation:
- Combine bacon and tequila in a large bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or up to 8 hours.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper. Pat the bacon dry. Combine the brown sugar, chili powder, and chipotle powder on a large plate and spread into an even layer. Press both sides of each bacon strip into the sugar mixture, then place them on the prepared baking sheets. Sprinkle with the remaining sugar mixture.
- Bake until the bacon is golden and glazed, turning once, 30-35 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool.
