Bread with ham and cheese

topcook.tomathouse.com

Ingredients:

  • 1 loaf (450 g) frozen bread dough
  • Premium flour for working with dough
  • 220 g thin slices of ham
  • 220 g of grated Irish Cheddar or other white Cheddar

Preparation:

  1. Defrost the dough overnight in the refrigerator, then bring it to room temperature (but do not let it rise) before working with it.
  2. Preheat oven to 160°C. Spray a loaf pan with cooking spray.
  3. On a lightly floured work surface, roll the dough into a 22 x 30 cm rectangle. If the dough springs back as you roll it, cover it with a dry towel and let it rest for 5 minutes.
  4. Place the ham slices on the dough, leaving 0.5 cm from the edges on all sides. Sprinkle with cheese and roll into a tight roll, pinching the seam and tucking the ends to completely seal the filling inside.
  5. Place the roll, seam side down, in the prepared loaf pan and bake until golden brown and set to an internal temperature of 95°C (205°F), 50 minutes to 1 hour.

Let the bread cool for at least 10 minutes. Remove from the pan. Slice and serve.
