Strawberry pie

Ingredients:

    Pie

  • 2 rolled out layers solder test
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • White decorative sugar, for sprinkling
  • 5 cups strawberries, washed, dried and hulled
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • A pinch of salt

    Strawberry whipped cream

  • 3/4 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup strawberry jam

Preparation:

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C.
  2. Unroll one sheet of dough and place it in a 22cm pie pan, crimping the edges to create a nice edge. Unroll the other sheet of dough and cut it into 1cm-thick strips or circles with a sharp knife or pastry cutter.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine all the filling ingredients and spoon them onto the dough in the pan.
  4. Arrange the dough strips over the pie in a lattice pattern, tucking the edges in, or arrange the dough circles on top of the strawberries. Brush the top with melted butter and sprinkle with sugar. Bake the pie for 25 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 350°F (175°C) and bake until the top is golden brown, an additional 30 minutes. Let cool and serve with strawberry whipped cream.

    Note

    To make the pie look more interesting, cut out circles of dough with a diameter of 2.5-4 cm and cover the filling with them.
  5. Strawberry whipped cream:

    In a medium bowl, beat the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Add the vanilla and powdered sugar and continue beating until soft peaks form. Add the jam a little at a time and beat until stiff peaks form.
