Pecan soda

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup toasted pecans
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • A pinch of salt
  • 240 ml of sparkling water
  • Pecans, for garnish

Preparation:

  1. In a saucepan, combine 2.5 cups of water, pecans, maple syrup, brown sugar, vanilla extract, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil and simmer until the mixture reduces to 3/4 cup, about 40 minutes. Strain and cool completely.
  2. Combine 3 tablespoons of syrup and sparkling water in a glass. Garnish with pecans.
