Ingredients:
Meat
- 4 natural pork chops on the bone (about 1 cm thick)
- Seasoning, recipe see below
- BBQ sauce, recipe below
Seasoning
- 1 cup paprika
- 3.5 tbsp. sugar
- 0.5 tsp onion powder
Barbecue sauce
- 2 tbsp. ketchup
- 1 cup of water
- 6 tbsp. l. brown sugar
- 5 tablespoons white sugar
- 1.5 tsp ground black pepper
- 1.5 tsp onion powder
- 1.5 tsp dry mustard powder
- 1.5 tsp paprika
- Juice of half a lemon
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 0.5 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon light corn syrup
Preparation:
- Rub the seasoning all over the meat. Place the pork chops in a large freezer bag. Pour 2 cups of barbecue sauce into the bag. Marinate in the refrigerator for 8 hours.
- Place the pork chops on the grill and cook until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C). Drizzle with barbecue sauce before serving.
Seasoning: Mix all ingredients in a small bowl.
Barbecue sauce: Combine all sauce ingredients in a large saucepan or Dutch oven.
- Over high heat, stirring frequently to prevent the mixture from burning, bring it to a boil.
- Once the sauce comes to a boil, reduce heat to low and simmer, uncovered, for at least 2 hours.
