Simple cranberry sauce for meat topcook.tomathouse.com
Ingredients:
- 500 g fresh cranberries, rinsed and dried
- 2 tbsp. sugar
- 1/3 cup water
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1/2 tsp ground allspice
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- Zest and juice of one orange
Preparation:
- In a medium saucepan, combine the cranberries, sugar, and water. Stir. Bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce the heat and add the cinnamon stick, allspice, and nutmeg. Stir and cook for 5-7 minutes.
- After a while, some cranberries will burst, while others will remain whole. Add orange juice and zest, stir, and let the sauce cool before serving.
