Ingredients:
Pizza dough:
- 1/2 cup warm water (40-43°C)
- 2 tsp active dry yeast
- 2 cups of premium flour, plus a little extra for kneading
- 3 tablespoons olive oil, plus more for greasing the bowl
- 1 teaspoon of salt
Topping:
- 450 g homemade pizza dough (see recipe below) or ready-made pizza dough
- 2 tsp melted butter
- 1/4 cup chocolate-hazelnut spread (preferably Nutella)
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons milk chocolate chips
- 2 tsp white chocolate chips
- 2 tsp toasted and chopped hazelnuts
Preparation:
- In a small bowl, combine warm water and yeast. Let stand until the yeast dissolves, about 5 minutes. Combine flour and salt in a food processor. Add butter. With the processor running, add yeast and knead until a dough forms. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth, about 1 minute.
Place the dough in a large, oiled bowl and turn it over to coat the surface with oil. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it rise in a warm, draft-free place until doubled in size, about an hour. Punch down the dough and form it into a ball. You can use it immediately or store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 day.
- Place a rack in the bottom of the oven and preheat to 230°C.
Line a large, heavy baking sheet with parchment paper. Roll the dough into a 9-inch (23-cm) circle. Transfer the dough to the prepared baking sheet. Use your fingers to make indentations all over the dough. Brush the dough with butter, then bake the crust until crisp and golden brown, about 20 minutes. Immediately spread the crust with chocolate-hazelnut spread and sprinkle with chocolate chips.
Bake in the oven until the chocolate begins to melt, about 1 minute. Sprinkle the pizza with hazelnuts. Slice and serve.
