Spicy Chocolate Popcorn Balls

Ingredients:

  • 12 cups cooked popcorn
  • 1/4 cup corn syrup
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 0.5 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows

Preparation:

  1. Sugar with cinnamon: In a small bowl, combine 1/3 cup granulated sugar and 2 tablespoons cinnamon.
  2. In a large saucepan, combine 1/4 cup light corn syrup, 2 tablespoons butter, 1 cup powdered sugar, 1 cup mini marshmallows, 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon each nutmeg and cayenne pepper, and 1 tablespoon water.
  3. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.
  4. Remove from heat; using a rubber spatula, fold in 1/2 cup of popcorn and 1 cup of mini marshmallows. Grease your hands, then form into balls and roll in cinnamon sugar.
