Spicy Hawaiian Burger with Bacon and Cheese topcook.tomathouse.com
Ingredients:
- 1 and 1/3 cups diced pickled jalapeños
- 1 and 1/3 cups diced pineapple
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- 600 g bacon slices
- 2 kg ground beef (20% fat)
- 4 hamburger buns
- 4 tomato slices
- 4 cups shredded lettuce, divided into 4 servings
- 8 slices of provolone cheese or any hard cheese made from cow's milk
Preparation:
- Make hot Hawaiian sauceCombine pickled jalapeños, pineapple, and barbecue sauce in a bowl.
Place the bacon in a large saucepan and cover with water. Cook until most of the fat has rendered, about 45 minutes. Drain the bacon. Preheat a grill or frying pan, then form the bacon into 4 patties and fry until crisp.
- Divide the ground beef into 4 patties. Sprinkle the patties with seasoned salt and cook over medium-high heat until desired doneness.
- Meanwhile, toast the buns on the grill.Place one slice of tomato on the bottom half of each bun and top with a serving of lettuce.
Top the beef and bacon patties with slices of provolone, then top each beef and cheese patty with a bacon and cheese patty.
- Drizzle the patties with hot Hawaiian sauce, place on buns and top with the bun tops.
