Strawberry Ice Cream Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups finely chopped strawberries
  • 0.5 cups of sugar
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Preparation:

  1. Combine strawberries, sugar, lemon juice and 2 tablespoons water in a saucepan.
  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the berries are softened, about 10 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve into a bowl, pressing down on the berries; let cool completely. Cover the sauce and refrigerate for up to 4 days.
