Hot sandwich with cheese, mushrooms and cutlet

Ingredients:

  • 2 slices Swiss cheese (60 g total)
  • 2 teaspoons butter or margarine
  • 1 cup thinly sliced ​​red onion
  • 1 cup thinly sliced ​​fresh mushrooms
  • 2 Grillers Prime patties with vegetables
  • 2 tsp butter or margarine, softened
  • 4 slices of marble rye bread
  • 1 tbsp steak sauce

Preparation:

  1. In a large nonstick skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the onion. Cook, uncovered, over medium heat for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the onion is soft and beginning to brown.
  2. Add the mushrooms to the onions. Cook, stirring occasionally, over medium heat for 3-4 minutes, or until the mushrooms are soft. Remove from the pan and keep warm.
  3. Place the patties in the same pan. Cook over medium heat, uncovered, turning once, for 7-8 minutes, or until heated through. Remove from the pan. Keep warm.
  4. Remove the skillet from the heat. Dry thoroughly with a paper towel. Spread 2 tablespoons of softened butter on one side of the bread slices. Place two slices of bread, butter side down, in the skillet.
  5. Top with the patties, steak sauce, onion mixture, and cheese. Top with the remaining bread, butter side up. Cook, covered, over medium heat for 2-4 minutes, or until golden brown on the bottom. Flip. Cook, uncovered, for another 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden brown. Cut in half. Serve immediately.

    On the grill:

    Preheat the grill. Grill the patties until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) on a meat thermometer.
