BLT sandwiches with blue cheese aioli

Ingredients:

    Sandwiches

  • 8 slices of country white or rye bread, 1 cm thick, lightly toasted
  • 16 thick slices bacon, fried and broken in half
  • 3 large tomatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 leaves bibb lettuce

    Aioli

  • 0.5 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup crumbled blue cheese
  • 2 tbsp hot sauce
  • 1 small clove of garlic, grated

Preparation:

  1. Prepare the aioliIn a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, blue cheese, hot sauce, garlic and black pepper to taste; mix well.
  2. Make sandwichesPlace 4 slices of bread on a cutting board. Spread 2-3 teaspoons of aioli on each, top each with 8 bacon halves, a few slices of tomato, some red onion, and a lettuce leaf. Top each sandwich with another slice of bread. Cut the sandwiches in half.
